In 1995, Polo Navarro, a Naturalist Guide in the Galapagos Islands since 1978, started building his home inside a mangrove forest. A couple of years later, the second part of the building started to take shape and the Red Mangrove Adventure Inn emerged by the sea surrounded by mangrove forest. What began with 4 bedrooms grew to 12 by 2007 when we purchased the Inn.
Today, we have 14 guest rooms and are now called the Red Mangrove Aventura Lodge. Our primary goal is to continue to protect and preserve the environment while also increasing the comfort of our Lodge in order to maximize the unique experience a Galapagos visit is for our guests. Extensive retro-fitting and new construction took place inside the property of the Red Mangrove Aventura Lodge, all with a passionate priority on preserving the existing forest and blending into the environment. 2 extra bedrooms were added in addition to the renovation of guest rooms, bathrooms, the restaurant and kitchen. A large wooden terrace now wraps the Lodge above the sea for our guest's enjoyment.
As of October 2008, we are very pleased to announce the opening of two more Red Mangrove Galapagos Lodges: Red Mangrove Isabela Lodge and Red Mangrove Floreana Lodge. With the addition of these two lodges, we can now offer our guests the epitome of land-based packages that offer even more options and more flexibility than a cruise!
Respect for the unique Galapagos environment and sustainable development is the absolute priority of our administration. In keeping with this philosophy, renovations, construction and management practices are executed or implemented with a strong focus on our ecological and social goals. Our management philosophy is a reflection of how privileged we feel to be guardians of our piece of the unique Galapagos environment.
We invite you to be part of this experience in one of the wonders of nature, the Galapagos Islands.
