What’s Your Story?
We are a family of three from Canada. We have traveled in the U.S.A, Aruba and Venezuela. We moved to Cuenca Ecuador in 2009. We are self-employed, we blog professionally and do some travel writing.
My Galapagos Trip
We spent a week in the Galapagos. We took the Darwin Triangle Long tour. We visited Santa Cruz, Isabela and Floreana Islands. At the end of the organized tour, we added one extra day that allowed us to explore the town of Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island) and Tortuga Bay.
What I Loved About My Galapagos Trip
This trip was one of the most fun and memorable things we have ever done! We loved seeing all the animals especially the sea lions and the marine iguanas. It was amazing to be so close to the animals.
We really enjoyed all of the excursions, but I think that snorkeling in the protected bay of Isabela Island, and visiting the Tortoise Ranch on Santa Cruz were our favorites.
I think my favorite moment was teaching my daughter to snorkel in front of the Isabella lodge; seeing her fall in love with the underwater world was priceless.
One travel tip: don’t forget to have an underwater camera. We didn’t, and we kick ourselves all the time when we think back to how amazing the underwater life was.
