Giant Galapagos Tortoise Devouring a Papaya: HD Video
While visiting Campo Duro on Isabela Island, we got to see some of the Giant Tortoises up close. There were some papaya trees that had recently dropped some fresh fruit and the tortoises devoured them.
Watching a tortoise eat grass is one thing, a papaya is entirely different.
We loved to see the mess that these guys made as they mushed their way through the papaya. And don’t worry – we weren’t nearly as close as it looks. Zoom cameras create some interesting illusions…
While at Campo Duro, we also got to see this little finch bathing in a cactus.
