Horseback Riding in Ecuador’s Andes Mountains (Video)
After exploring the Galapagos, many travelers choose to extend their vacation by taking a mainland Ecuador tour.
A great way to do that is by taking a quick trip to Cuenca – a small city in the Andes mountains.
One of the excursions our guests take while in Cuenca is to a local horse riding center.
The facility is located high in the Andes and has miles of mountain trails to explore. Take a short (30 minute) trip or go for hours. Sebastian, the head trainer, is an expert rider and instructor.

The horse riding center (Centro Ecuestre Bellavista) is located on a functioning dairy farm just a few minutes outside of the city. The original homestead is a 300 year-old adobe house.
After riding, you’ll be served a hot traditional meal at the huge dining room table by the trainers grandmother.
