We are thrilled to have just been designated a National Geographic Dive Resort. This designation is in conjunction with our PADI Five-Star Resort Designation.

Galapagos’ Only National Geographic Dive Resort

national-geographic-dive-resort-galapagosThis designation highlights our uniqueness in the Galapagos. We are already the top producer of PADI certifications (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) in the Galapagos Islands. We are building the largest dive training center in the country. When complete later this year, it will also be one of the largest dive training centers in all of South America.

To receive this designation, our instructors have received special certification credentials to offer the National Geographic classes. We also have established special professional liability insurance to be qualified to teach the National Geographic Courses.

The National Geographic rating is another way that Red Mangrove Galapagos Lodges can help educate the visitors to the Galapagos Islands about the flora and fauna unique to the islands and make their visit that much more meaningful and educational.

The National Geographic rating goes hand in hand with our commitment to sustainable tourism and providing a more informative visit to the islands combining both land and diving tours so our guests get the very best possible Galapagos experience.

Our Hyperbaric chamber has arrived and is slated for instalation and training to commence in the 3rd week of August. This is only the second chamber in the islands. Also, our new Nitrox Gas system has arrived also to be installed 3rd week of August. We are currently the only dive center in Galapagos with a state of the art Membrane Nitrox Maker.

From PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors):

The PADI National Geographic Dive Center Award is granted on an annual basis to progressive PADI Five Star Dive Centers and 5 Star Dive Resorts that excel in providing dive consumers with a full range of National Geographic diver education programs while actively promoting the benefits of environmental awareness and responsibility. A PADI National Geographic Dive Center’s appearance and customer and customer service performance is representative of the National Geographic brand.
