Pink flamingos are one of my favorite animals in the Islands. We were very fortunate on a recent trip to the wetlands of Isabela Island – there was a group of more than forty flamingos feeding in the lagoon.
Seems kind of surreal to see these bright pink birds. Our naturalist guide told us that they get their color from the food they eat. And they are surprisingly big – kind of like a pink turkey on stilts.
