On the walk to Tortuga Bay, you’ll cross a long beach with rough seas. The waves are big and go out for hundreds of meters.
As you near the end of this beach, and just before entering Tortuga Bay, you’ll find large groups of marine iguanas. They are warming themselves in the sun and resting from a hard days work. Often they will pile on top of each other.
When we first saw them, we thought they were dead. It looks like they are so tired that they literally just collapse. Fortunately for us (and them) they aren’t dead – just super tired. Check out 11 Curious Facts about Marine Iguanas.
