February 12, 2012 will mark 180 years of the Galapagos Islands belonging to Ecuador.

To mark the occasion, I have decided to give away a trip for two to the Galapagos Islands. 

The winners will be my guests at my Red Mangrove Lodges. Everything is included, except international airfare. Once you land in mainland Ecuador, you are in our hands. The two winners will be taking the Darwin Triangle Short Tour (5 days / 4 nights) visiting three islands (value of approximately $3250) and having the adventure of a lifetime.

Contest Terms and Conditions

Winners must make their request for travel to Red Mangrove Lodges at least six weeks prior to the anticipated date of departure, failing which Red Mangrove Lodges will not accept the reservation and the prize will be deemed void. The winner and his/her travel companion must travel together both ways. The winner and his/her travel companion are responsible for arranging their own visas and travel/medical insurance and must have the legal right to leave and return to their country of residence and must have the legal right to enter and leave the Republic of Ecuador. They are fully responsible for obtaining, at their own expenses, all documentation necessary for the trip as required by the authorities concerned, including, but not limited to, visas, passports, vaccinations and certificates. These shall be obtained before departure. The winner and his/her travel companion shall comply with the contest validity dates and accept the alternatives proposed by Red Mangrove Lodges, if this proves necessary. All of the personal expenses of the winner and his/her travel companion are their sole responsibility. The winner and his/her travel companion are responsible for their own transportation to Ecuador (either Quito or Guayaquil International Airports). Red Mangrove Lodges shall assume no responsibility of any nature whatsoever for any postponement, delay or cancellation of the flight or any other component of the packages or of any other transportation which is part of the prize for any reasons whatsoever, including, but not limited to, weather conditions, equipment breakdown or failure. Travel must be completed by October 31, 2012. Reservation is subject to availability of Red Mangrove Lodges. Taxes, airport fees, custom duties, entry fees, tourist cards, surcharges, insurance charges, personal expenses and travel documentation are not included in the prize. Red Mangrove Lodges strongly recommend that travel insurance be purchased at time of reservation as a measure of added protection. All personal expenses are the responsibility of the winner and his/her travel companion. All travel documentation that may be required (visa, passports, etc.) are the winner’s and his/her travel companion’s responsibility and must be obtained prior to departure. The prize offered must be accepted as offered and is not exchangeable, refundable, transferable or convertible into cash.

By accepting a prize, the winner/s agrees to Red Mangrove Lodges and its designees’ use of their name/s and /or photograph for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation. Red Mangrove Lodges reserves the right to cancel or modify the contest if fraud or technical failures compromise the integrity of the contest as determined by Red Mangrove Lodges in its sole discretion.
Proof of identification will be required before claiming the prize. This includes Name, Address and Birthdate.
Red Mangrove Lodges will not be held responsible for telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, misdirected, stolen, incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or on the website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest.

Only one entry per person. Selection of Winners will be from the list of eligible entries. The decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner must respond within 7 BUSINESS days from the date of the notification attempt, after this it will be assumed to be invalid and a new winner will be selected. If any prize notification, or any prize, is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner from the pool of entries.

Winners assume all liability for any damages caused or claimed to be caused by participation or by any prize, and release Red Mangrove Lodges from any such liability. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winner’s name, city and Province/State (e.g. Jane Doe Miami, FL) for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation. Red Mangrove Lodges guarantee that the personal details, including email address, of entrants will not be publicized, rented or sold – unless express permission has been given by the entrant.

Chances of winning are determined by the total number of subscriptions completed online www.redmangrove.com/blog In the event that any giveaway is compromised in any way, electronically or otherwise, that is beyond the control of Red Mangrove Lodges, we reserve the right to withdraw the giveaway and award the prize from among entries received prior to the date of the withdrawal.
