Without a doubt, the bay on Isabela Island is the most dramatic that we’ve seen in the Galapagos.
To see this bay, you simply need to visit the island. The primary town of Puerto Villamil (located on the south eastern tip of the island) is the primary entry point for tourists to the island. As you approach the island – especially if it’s sunny – you will see the protected bay. The water is so clear that you can see straight to the bottom. To arrive at the dock, you’ll travel across the small bay.
Two very popular excursions are located nearby: Los Tuneles and El Finado. There are also snorkeling sites right in the bay – the last time we saw sea turtles, sea lions and thousands of tropical fish.
