Recently my son, Tomas, was visiting our lodge on Isabela Island. Aside from surfing, using the Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) is one of his favorite things to do in the Galapagos.
Why You’d Miss This Experience on a Galapagos Cruise
When I snapped this photo he was just returning from an early morning paddle and had spotted two sea turtles and a sea lion. The Galapagos are full of amazing animals. Really all it takes to see them, is just putting yourself out there. Those unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime memories happen when you get off the beaten track. Taking a land-based Galapagos tour allows much more flexibility and opportunity to get closer with the animals than a cruise format. Because you are already on land, its so much easier to experience the Galapagos in an intimate way.
