At the end of August we hosted an event where we invited the Diving community in the Galapagos Islands to show them the National Geographic Red Mangrove Dive Center, as our help to the diving industry in Galapagos. The result is that the Dive Center will help generate more safe divers in the community and more safe divers as customers that will protect the environment.
The purpose was to show them the progress with the construction of the Dive Center and to introduce the project as a support to the Diving Community and the Santa Cruz community itself in terms of new opportunities to increase sustainable activities such as professional diving certifications, etc. The objective of the Dive Center is to present the community an affordable alternative to encourage people to do things right.
Objective of the National Geographic Red Mangrove Dive Center
- to encourage people get proper certifications
- to get proper training in a nice environment with safe infrastructure
For the event, we invited guests to the Aventura Lodge, took them to the construction site and then brought them back. As guests, there were representatives of Dive Centers in Santa Cruz and from the Regional Direction of Sports (Direccion Regional de Deportes).
Below is a video of the construction progress back in April.
