Weekly Photo – A Red Mangrove Welcome on Baltra Island

Landing at the airport on Baltra Island is pretty exciting. It is your first glimpse into the Galapagos.

Once you purchase (or receive, if its already paid for) your National Park Entry Card you will move through to a crowd of waiting travel guides. The larger tour companies have booths and a couple of uniformed staff members waiting to pick you up. In this weeks weekly photo we have a picture of Javier, a Red Mangrove Tour Leader who was waiting for us when we got off the plane.

Once we made the connection with Javier (who gave us some ice water) we grabbed our checked luggage and headed for the bus that would take us to the Itabaca Crossing.
